Welcome to my blog!!! I have been an herbalist & an aromatherapist for over 20 years!! My blog is over 10 years old & there are over 100 informative blogs here. Not only do I have hopes of teaching the masses, I too, have learned a lot during my research on different topics! There's always new & updated information in the herbal & essential oil worlds. There are blogs on herbs, essential oils, nutrition, supplements, different modalities of healing and just a little bit of everything!! Maybe in reading my blogs, just one person will come away with a bit of knowledge that they might be able to help themselves or another human being, I would consider that to be a great blessing.....

Over the years I have had several businesses. It seems I can't get away from seeing if a certain herb or essential oil can help a fellow human and that's usually how it starts. I am now in Arizona and I was asked again if I would be interested in starting another herbal business!! We now have Herbs 4 Health!! Providing numerous herbs....herbal blends....single essential oils...essential oil blends....minerals....tinctures all to help the body to heal itself.

The information in these blogs is not meant in any way shape or form to plagiarize, for I have never said this is all MY work. It is a compilation of reputable informative websites, my 'go to' books I have always depended upon & my own knowledge. I gather & put together information to help people learn & this way they can come back here to help remind themselves of said information instead of 'where oh where did I find that on the world wide web'. Seems to me it's just better & easier.

Surprising Benefits of Lemon!!

Lemon is a miraculous fruit that can possibly kill cancer cells! It is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy. There are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits. But as we know, nothing is as good as the original! Lemon juice can be hugely beneficial in preventing cancer, while its taste is pleasant, it does not produce the horrific effects of chemo. You can eat the fruit in many different ways: eat the pulp, juice press, lemonade, sorbets, pastries, etc. It has many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it has on cysts and tumors. It is a proven remedy against cancers of all types including colon, breast, prostate, lung & pancreas. The lemon is also anti-microbial which is beneficial against bacterial infections & fungi, internal parasites & worms, it helps to regulate blood pressure, can be used as an antidepressant, it combats stress & nervous disorders. This particular information comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed it can destroy the malignant cells in 12 cancers, the compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used during chemotherapy, at slowing the growth of cancer cells & what is even more astonishing, this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells & doesn't affect healthy cells. (Information provided by the Institute of Health Sciences in Baltimore, MD 21201)

Just one cup of this miraculous fruit contains 187% of the rda value of vitamin c, with 6 grams of fiber, b vitamins and plenty of minerals such as potassium, why wouldn't we add this daily to our diet? With all the vit. c, it helps to neutralize & reduce the effect of free radicals that contribute to disease. Our body generates free radicals whenever we burn calories as fuel for our cells, not to mention being bombarded with them from air pollution, tobacco smoke, radiaton & sunlight. Lemon not only is a great cleaning agent (more on that later), but it aids the body in cleansing as well by removing toxins & is a great cleanser for the liver. It can be used as a remedy for most anything from a sore throat to stomach ulcers, including fevers, flu bugs, colds. They can also be used topically for corns, calluses, eczema & even age spots.

Lemons contain limonene which appear to help inhibit some of the cell divisions that may cause cancer. Limonene is found in the zest or outermost part of the rind of a lemon. The limonene found in the peel or the zest has the effect of increasing the level of enzymes in the liver that may remove cancer-causing chemicals. The limonene has also been showns to remove estradiol, a hormone linked to breast cancer.

If you can not obtain certified organic lemons, make sure you wash the outside of the lemon thoroughly to remove any pesticide residues. I make a homemade vegetable cleaner using lemon juice...in hopes of getting rid of all the pesticides! Buy lemons that are small, heavy, dark lemon yellow in color & with smooth, fine-grained skin. Coarse-grained lemons are way past their prime and lower in nutritional value. Both fresh or dried lemon peel have equally impressive healing properties. Just be sure than when you are getting your lemon zest, you don't grate too far down into the white pith, as that can be bitter! The lemon juice can add a nice zest to salad dressings, vegetables & rice stir fries, it's not just for beverages anymore. I, personally use the zest to make homemade tarter sauce, then cut up the lemon & add the wedges to my drinking water. Great for detoxifying!

Lemons can be used as a natural deodorant, facial cleanser or toner. They have also been used for years to bleach elbows & hair! They can be used as a scalp and/or hair treatment, to exfoliate the skin, for blemishes and for bleaching & strengthening fingernails and toenails. Also to freshen one's breath!

For cleaning purposes....the acids in lemons make them a great natural sanitizer! Scrub down those surfaces in the bath or kitchen with half a lemon & it leaves behind a fresh clean scent as well. They can help to remove stains on countertops or clothing. Mixed with salt, they can do a great job cleaning copper pans. They are worth more than their weight in gold when it comes to their cleaning properties.
